How to get the special Discord role?

Quick answer: Pro members get an exclusive role that unlocks the Pro-only discussion areas in our Discord. Claim it by linking your Discord account to the Mod Engine forums on the Connected Accounts page. The role can take a little while to appear due to Discord's bot sync limits.

The special role marks Pro supporters in the community and grants access to the Pro-only discussion areas. Claiming it takes one link.

How do I claim the role?

  1. Have an active Pro membership. The role is tied to Pro — if you're not upgraded yet, What is Pro? covers everything it includes.
  2. Open Connected Accounts in your forum settings. Head to modengine.net/account/connected-accounts/ while logged in to the forum.
  3. Link your Discord account. Authorize the connection, and the role is assigned to that Discord account automatically.

I linked my account but don't see the role yet

Give it some time. Discord limits how often bots can sync data, so the role can take a while to update after linking — this is a Discord-side refresh limit, not a problem with your membership. If it still hasn't appeared after a reasonable wait, contact support with your forum username and Discord tag.

Tip — if your Pro upgrade itself hasn't activated yet, sort that first: I paid but haven't received my upgrade. Why?
